Rocks of Encouragement

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today I am sharing a little fun with Inspired By Stamping's products!

Recently my daughter has gotten into painting rocks and hiding them within the surrounding area that we live!  I didn't realize this was a big thing, until I recently found a painted rock while working!!  I picked it up and brought it home to show my kids and look into it!

Well that is all it took for my kids!  Next thing I know, I'm buying more acrylic paints, paint markers, sealer and we're at the local beach occasionally picking rocks!!

I admit, I am not much of a painter!  So while spending time with the kids painting, I thought, I wonder if I can stamp on them?

So I decided to give it a try!!

I start by finding a fairly flat and smooth rock and add some acrylic paint to the top.  I then find an encouraging sentiment to add once dried!

I cut a piece of acetate to just slightly bigger than my sentiment, as using a block doesn't really stamp well if the rock isn't very smooth and flat.  Using the acetate allows me to have more control when stamping and allows me to stamp the sentiment better!

Stamped:
I love the watercolor feel to the stamped sentiment!!  How appropriate when I used the sentiment from the Watercolor Sentiments stamp set!!

I ended up leaving the stamped sentiment as it was as I really liked the look. Sometimes I will use a paint marker to clean-up the sentiment so it looks more perfect, as you will see in the next rock.

I then added a border and some hearts around the sentiment! I unfortunately don't have a finished look! I feel bad!  My daughter grabbed this rock on Saturday along with a bunch of other ones as she thought she was doing me a favor!  Because we went to town to hide a bunch!  Didn't even see her hide it! Didn't know until I went to take pictures Sunday and was looking all over for it! LOL.  I confronted her and she was all excited that she hid it!  Should have left it at that!  As when I told her I didn't take a picture of it yet, some tears were shed.  I felt horrible!!

Here is one of the completed rocks:
For this one I stamped the 'Do What Makes You" sentiment from the Happy Stamp Set on my rock!!  And I die cut the 'happy' sentiment from the Happy Die Set from a piece of glittery sticker paper!  I adhered it to my rock and added Mod Podge over to keep it adhered to my rock!

I was told by my daughter that she didn't take this one because she secretly really wants to keep it!! LOL!

How fun!!!

Something a little different!!  So I thought I would share!!

It is so much fun to do, but very important to make sure paint and ink is dry before you seal!  I've been a little anxious to seal some of my rocks and have actually wrecked them and smeared the stamping! So be patient!

Have a lovely day!

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's Feature Day at Your Next Stamp!!

Feature Day Theme Is....
Let's Learn our ABC's....Create Anything But a Card

In honor of school being back in session, what a fun theme!!

I decided to create a fun tag, using the Cool Tag Three Die Set, to be added to a package of candy!

I stamped the Alpha Splatter Stamp on my die cut tag!  I used my Copics to color a few of the letters and numbers in!
I also used the fun School Notes stamp set and coordinating School Notes Die Set to add the sweet images and sentiment!  Thought this little tag and package would be fun to add in my daughter's lunch some day as a sweet surprise for her!!

She's always so thoughtful and leaving me cute little messages to find, so I thought I would do the same for her!!

I'm sure she will love it!!

You Warm My Heart

Hello Stamping Friends!!

Dare 2B Atrzy is once again a Super Sponsor for Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!!
With the lovely cooling weather outside the theme is....Fall!!

I created this super fun fall card:
I used the Perfect Blend stamp set for my coffee cup and sentiment!  I decided to leave my coffee cup white, as I wanted it to stand out from the kraft paper!  I decided to pair the fun coffee set with the lovely Tangle Leaves stamp set!

I stamped one of the leaves on my karft cardstock using VersaMark ink to create the fun leaf paper!  I also then used the ink and leaf stamp set to create the two leaves behind my coffee cup!!  I also used the coordinating Fall Leaves die set to die cut them out!!

I also used the Mug Die set to die cut the steam from a piece of vellum paper to add above my coffee cup!  I love the look!!

I may not be a coffee drinker, but I sure love my cappuccinos this time of year!!

-----------------

I found some inspiration in some of the colors and followed the sketch!!

I decided to use the adorable new Scarf Weather stamp set! As well as the coordinating Scarf Weather Die Set!!

I started by stamping the lovely tree and tree swing image on a piece of white cardstock and used the Stitched Ovals Die Set to die cut the oval shape, cutting some of the image off.  I then colored the image, along with the adorable cat with my Copics!!

I used the Scarf Weather Die Set to die cut the kitty out after coloring!!  I just love being able to have coordinating dies with my stamps!!  It sure beats killing my eyes fussy cutting!!
I used the Washi Tape Die Set to die cut the smaller piece of washi tape!  I absolutely LOVE this die set!!  I then stamped the 'Fall Fun Is In the Air" from the Scarf Weather stamp set!  I used my distress inks to ink around the edges!!

YNS September DT Dare

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's DT Dare day at Your Next Stamp!!

DT Dare is....

With the dare in mind I decided to use a few of my blue inks to create a background behind my sweet painting chick and easel!!

I used the Paint Swooshes and Splatters stamp set to create the background:
I then stamped the 'To a brilliant, creative, smart, generous, funny and attractive chick!' sentiment from the new Hobby Chicks stamp set!!

I stamped my chick image and easel from the Hobby Chicks stamp set, colored them with my Copics and then die cut them out using the coordinating Hobby Chicks Die Set!  As I wanted to use pop-dots behind them to make them stand up above my fun stamped background!!

What a fun card to give a creative friend!!!

Pretty Snowflakes

Hello Stamping Friends!

I have two cute cards to share with you using fun new snowflake dies from Frantic Stamper!!

I'm a sucker for pretty snowflakes!!!

So I was very excited to see the newest three snowflake dies release by FS this month!!

For my first card, I used the Courchevel Snowflake (10318) to create the outline to the bottom right of my white cardstock layer!  I then was able to die cut the Luchon Snowflake (10317) from sticker paper and add blue glitter, so that it was then a beautiful sparkly snowflake!!  Which I added directly to my card base!
The 'let it Snow' sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps Flakey Friends stamp set!

So pretty!!

For my next card, I again used the Luchon Snowflake (10317) die!  I used it to die cut the outline of the snowflake from my white cardstock layer!  My daughter ended up using the actual die cut for a card she wanted to create!!
I used stamps from the Plaid Maker #2 stamp set to create the "pattern paper" behind my die cut snowflake!!  After stamping the polka dot stripes, I added clear tape to the top and added clear glitter, so once again the snowflake sparkled!!

Clean and Simple!! Yet so elegant!!

A Gift

Hello Stamping Friends!

I have a cute card to share with you using fun new dies from Frantic Stamper!!

This month's release focused on new Christmas dies!!  So it has me dreaming of the holidays!

I used the new Nesting Lift-Flaps to create a flap on the front of my card, so that I could hide a gift card!

Here is a look as you open the flap:
I also used the new Gift Card Corner Holder die set, so that I was able to add the gift card to my card and to also add the 'A Gift' sentiment to the front of the card!

Such a fun way to give a gift card, instead of using the generic ones the stores give you!  So much personal!!
