Cupcake and Roses by Designed 2 Delight

The final Designed 2 Delight freebie of the month is "Cupcake and Roses".  I just love this new image from D2D!!  You received this digi as a freebie for playing along with us last week, if not you can get it in the D2D shop.

You get both the cupcake and the accent roses.  I had a lot of fun playing around with this digi, currently one of my favorites, until the next one comes out!! :)

I got two cards done and am currently working on another one, which will be posted sometime next week.

I LOVE how this one turned out:
I used the accent roses on this card to make a tag and make the sentiment in Word.

Second one turned out okay as well:
I opened the digi in Photoshop and combined them together three times, like the top one, but erased the candle on the two end ones and drew a line to close the cupcake up again.  I sure had fun messing around with this digi.

Here's a close-up:
I used CI Paints "Fairy Dust" and Autumn Wheat" to add some shimmer to this card.

Have a fun night!  We plan on going by my Aunt and Uncle's house tonight for supper and a Wii Bowling Tournament!!  Should be a fun night, the kids always have fun when we visit with them.

Whimsical Cardinals from D2D

"Whimsical Cardinals" is the latest digital images released from Deisnged 2 Delight. It's actually three images, so you can choose which one to use. You receive the cardinals together as shown below, and then them as individual digi stamps so you can get really creative. :)

If you missed out on recieving the image as a freebie this week, make sure to grab it in the shop.  By playing along, you'll recieve next week's image free!!

I've decided to use the large one alone for my card and also have chosen to make him into a blue jay for some reason.  Guess I was trying to get away from Christmas colors and going with more wintery colors!

My card:

Close-up pictures:

I used CI Paint "Winter Frost" to cover the snowflakes and sentiment and used "Fairy Dust" to add shimmer to his scarf!

Have a wonderful day!!

Snowflakes

Good morning!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  We sure had a lot of fun with the kids!  They both were so excited!

This is my post for today on the Creative Inspirations Paints Blog.

I have one more holiday card to share with you for this year, which actually is my first card I have created to send out next year!  Yay...for starting my Christmas cards for 2011 already!!  Hopefully I will get them all done way before the holidays next year!

I used CI Paints "Denium" to coat the background die cut. I then used white embossing powder to emboss white snowflakes on top of the paint. I also dipped my paint brush in "Ivory" and flicked my brush to add some specks of paint to the background. (And yes I made a mess by doing this!!)
Here's a close-up:

Just look at all the shimmer! I used the paints to cover the felt snowflakes. "Sky Blue" was used on the large one and "Fairy Dust" on the smaller one. The brad in the center was originally white, but I dipped it in the cap of "Ivory", so that it would match my project! I just love these paints!!

The Let It Snow tag I used a cotton ball to add "Ivory" to it.

Just a friendly reminder to order your LIMITED EDITION Paints before it's too late! They'll be available till the end of this week.

Have a great week!

Happy Sunday

I hope everyone survived the holiday season!  Hope it was a good one!  I've been enjoying playing with the kids with their new toys!!  They both were so much fun!!  I can't believe it's over for another year!  Now I need to focus on the little ones birthday, I can't believe she's going to be one in little over a week!  Next Saturday we're having her B-day party!!

It's Sunday, along with being the last Sunday of the month, which means it is your last chance to be entered in the drawing at CREATIVE INSPIRATION PAINTS to win your choice of 5 jars.  These paints are amazing!!

I did not get a new project made with all the holiday preparations, but did want to remind you and share an older card I made.

So for the challenge:

DREAM VACATION

Inspired By: Where You Would Love To Go

I created this card this summer:
My dream vacation right now would be to go somewhere warm and where there is no snow piled up!  Where there are flowers growing everywhere! :) ....Or even to be able to sit in my gazebo among my flowers!

We'd love to see what you create, plus you'll be entered into the drawing to win 5 jars for yourself.  No need to use CI Paints, but if you own some, use them and you'll be entered twice for your creation.  Check it out here.

Have a great day!

Oh Christmas Tree...

This "Christmas Tree" dollar delight has been one of my favorite digi's from Designed 2 Delight to work with this holiday season!  It's only a $1!  And there are so many different things you can do with it.

Here's a holiday card I made the other night!

I used a gelly roll pen to add some shimmer to the star and swirls on the tree.  What's a Christmas card without shimmer?!

I can't wait till tomorrow!! It's going to be so much fun watching the kids open gifts!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A close-up of the shimmer and snow!!
I used Creative Inspiration Paints "Blue Ice" to add shimmer to this card. The image was colored in with ProMarkers.
The snowflake was cut from my Cricut using "Graphically Speaking" cart and the hearts are from "George and Basic Shapes".  I embossed the hearts with "Tiny Bubbles" embossing folder.

Quick Cards

It never fails, every year may dad asks me to make cards for him and it's always like a day before he would like them!!  Well any card maker knows that it takes awhile to make cards, he doesn't understand that!  Next year I should just make some and have them done ahead of time...yeah right!  Wishful thinking!

Thankfully I had a bunch of "Happy Holiday" stamped from lasts years cards I made.  So I quickly colored a few and throw these cards together for him.  These are just a few:

The stamp is from Stampin' Up.

Have a nice day!

Featured Artist...

Featured Artist:
Sawyer

My little guy has been having a blast in my room creating with me lately!
The other day he started digging through some of my "extras" which I have in a drawer, looking at me with he's cute face I obviously gave in and let him have a few things.

He found an extra Create a Critter Zebra I had cut out a while ago.  He told me he wanted to make a card for Grandma.  So here it is....
Sawyer's 1st Card! He's so proud of his card he made!!

Here's a picture of him really concentrating while he was gluing the zebra to the card! :)

After he colored on it a little bit he said, "Momzy, take a picture!" and as I was taking a picture he said, "Zebra say cheese!"  Since he wanted me to take a picture, I thought I would share it with everyone!

Hope that puts a smile on your face on a Monday morning!!

CI Paints Star Challenge

Inspired by: Stars

"Each week you will be given a challenge to find inspiration in/from what ever the challenge theme is... you can be as literal or abstract in your inspiration as you want... Just make sure you can tie it back to the theme!"

Join us, we'd love to see what you create, plus you have a chance of winning 5 jars of your choice!
Here's what I created this week:
A layout for my daughter's album! I used a combination of Cricut cuts, stamps and stickers for this layout!  Plus my favorite...CI PAINTS!!

I used Cricut cart "Lyrical Letters" to cut out "I wished"  then used CI Paint "FAIRY DUST" to add shimmer to the letters. I used "D'vine Swirl" Cuttlebug folder to emboss the gold star and CI Paint "Amethyst" to cover the purple star and "Ivory" to cover the white star.

I used CI Paint "LIGHT PURPLE" to cover the bottom star and "IVORY" for the top star. And I used "Swiss Dots" to emboss the middle star.  I didn't want to use the paints on all the stars, as I thought it might end up being too much if I did that.

I have been scrapping for a long time and millions of sticker letters yet!  So with this layout my goal was to use a few.  "upon a STAR" was created with stickers. I wanted to add shimmer to the word "STAR" so on the sticker sheet I painted the letters I wanted to use first with CI Paint "Buttercup".

Hope you join us this week for our "STAR" challenge!

We are stranded in the house!  We got almost a foot of snow!!
So we've been getting ready for Christmas and playing house! :)  My son loves cooking me meals and his sister's kitchen set!

Have a nice day!
