Let It Snow

I sure would love if we would get a dusting of snow!  I love how it looks outside after we get some fresh snow!  It's so hard to believe it is almost December!

Here's a card I made this morning while the kiddos were still sleeping.

On these snowflakes I used  Creative Inspiration Paint "Ivory" which really made them look frosty!!  Remember to order "Ivory", which is currently one of the special edition paints, only available until the end of December!

I used the adorable GI Stamp "Country Snowman" (G392) for this card.  I just love this stamp.  My mom already has claimed all the cards I made with this stamp!
I used CI Paints "Chocolate" and "Fairy Dust" for his hat. I also used "Fairy Dust" around his body to give him some shimmer. I used glossy accents on the berries.

As I'm finishing this up, I can hear the kids upstairs, which means they are now up!  Now on to playing with them!

Hope you have a great week!  I hope to continue to update my blog as much as possible, but with the holidays coming it may not be as much.

Gift Giving From the Heart - D2D Blog Hop

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Designed 2 Delight is having a fun blog hop "Gift Giving From the Heart". There are sure some wonderful thrifty gift items! No order to follow on this blog hop, just go to the D2D Card Ideas Blog for pictures of all the gift ideas.  Click on the picture to go to the designers blog!

Thanks for visiting my blog to get the details on my crafty gift!

I have a ton of baby food jars, that I have always wanted to do something with other then always just recycling them to the dump. I've used so many of them to store brads and other little items that I didn't need them for that anymore and have always wanted to alter them.  So this blog hop really motivated me to finally do something with them!

I created 3 different jars as of now:
Aren't they fun?

I priced out doing the jar in front, which was the simplest one.
I priced it out as to making 10 gifts, as most of the time you make more then one!
I used the "Christmas Tree" dollar delight digi to make this jar.
Look at all the shimmer on the top of the jar!!  Not only do I LOVE using the D2D images, but I also LOVE adding CI Paints to them to add shimmer!!

Essentially in my case the project was even cheaper as I have a little one at home eating baby food yet, so in my opinion it didn't cost me anything for the jar, as she needs to eat! :)  But if you don't have a little one at home, perhaps you know someone you can get jars from?  Or you can get your hands on some other similar jars?  Or if you want to actually purchase the baby food jars and just dump out the food.

Creating this jar:
1. Remove label.
2. Using Photoshop I opened the D2D Candy Cane Circle and the D2D Christmas Tree digi.
- I duplicated the Candy Cane Circle Layer
- Sized the Christmas Tree, to the size I wanted and the dragged the digi onto the Candy Cane Circle, creating another layer
- Place the Christmas Tree in between the two Candy Cane layers
- The top Candy Cane layer you'll need to use the magic wand to select the center and delete the white part, this will allow you to see the Christmas Tree under, yet cropping parts of the tree that are larger the the inside of the circle
- Type "Happy Holidays" to add in the circle
3. The top of the jar cover is 2".  So size the image to that size or you can just cut out a circle that size (as I did on the Stitched Snowman Jar).
4. Color your image.
5. Cut image and the glue to the top cover.
6. Add ribbon around the top.
7. Add candy! (or any other little trinket)

Pretty simple!

I hope I didn't confuse you on the Photoshop steps, feel free to contact me if you need me to explain better.  I tried my best!

I just love this last D2D freebie we received, I wanted to use him again!  I just think this little penguin is so adorable!

 Isn't he cute?

I cut a snowflake from my "Graphically Speaking" Cricut cart to add to the top of this jar.
I used CI Paints to cover the snowflake to add shimmer and then added some gems!

The candy cane border around each of the images is from a new set Faith is releasing soon!

I love receiving comments, so please leave some love! :)  There will be some random drawings, so leave some comments here and on the other DT members blogs!

All the blogs can be found on the new D2D DT "Card Ideas" blog along with prize details!

Thanks for visiting my crafty creation!  I hope I along with the DT members have inspired you to create some fun holiday gifts!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Kaela as a Fairy - D2D

Check out this adorable new digi from Faith at Designed 2 Delight! She just released another Kaela!! I just think this little girl is so cute!

When I saw her, I visioned her sitting on a Christmas present! I used the gift from "Beary Big Gift", which I think worked perfectly!!
I used Photoshop to erase the bear and the dots on the gift. I added Kalea sitting on the gift and was ready to color!

My card:
A close-up:

I used CI Paints "Fairy Dust" on her wings and across part of her dress.

And a cute picture of the two of them, before the party started.  Ava loved the princess wands! :)  Although, I'm not ready for her to turn one, I can't wait for her party!

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

It's a few days early, but Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys their time with their family and friends!

I had a lot of fun making this card.  I used my Circut cart "Create a Critter" to cut out this adorable turkey!

I used my Creative Inspiration Paints to add some shimmer to him!  I just love these paints!  The come in 55 beautiful colors!  Check them out here.

I used my Cuttlebug folder "Tiny Bubbles" to emboss his back feathers.  I then painted the bubbles with CI Paint "Mango".  After the paint dried, which wasn't long at all, I sanded the paper to bring on its white core.
I really like how it turned out!

These little pieces of ribbon were originally white. I first used VersaMagic Pumpkin Spice Chalk Ink to cover the ribbon and then used CI Paint "Mango" on the top. I cut the ribbon into little pieces to add some embelishments to the card.

I think it adds a neat addition to the card.
Lastly to finish off the card I stamped a swirl in the top right corner with the same VersaMagic ink. I then used a tooth pick to cover the little dots with "Mango"and used "Burnt Clay" to cover two of the swirls. The added touch of shimmer is perfect!

Have a great day!

Meet Kaela...again...

I just love this new digital image from Designed 2 Delight!

Well I got my ProMarkers in the mail this morning!!  It was like Christmas!!  Of course I had to try them out right away.  So bare in mind that this is the first image I've colored with these markers, but I do think she turned out cute.

I LOVE these markers!  Thanks Avra for suggesting them to me!  I already want more!  hehe...

Here's a close-up of all here shimmer!  This week's Double Delight Challange is sparkle! I used Creative Inspiration Paints "Pink Highlights" and "Gold" to add some beautiful shimmer to her! I also used some glitter.

Designed 2 Delight - New Sets!

There are two new adorable digital stamp sets available in Faith's Designed 2 Delight digi shop!

The first one is called "Dino-Mite Birthday"!

A card I created using a few of the digi's from this set:

The digi's also make great coloring pages for my little 2 year that loves spending time in my room with me crafting!!
It took me a lot of convincing to get the page from him to scan in, I think he thought I wasn't going to give it back to him!  He has it proudly displayed on his desk! :)  He kept telling me it was turning out so pretty as he was coloring it! hehe
And lately I've been thinking about starting to plan my little girl's 1st birthday because with the holidays coming soon things will begin to get crazy around here.  So I found this set to be just PERFECT!

"Princess Wishes"

An invite I made:

The inside reads "Princess Ava invites you to attend her royal celebration" along with the details for the party!

A start on thank-you cards:

What princess is complete with out shimmer?!  I used CI Paints "Pink Highlights" to add some shimmer to her dress.

You can purchase both of these sets in the D2D digi shop!

Have a great day!
